"I missed you throughout the night and I decided to check on you." Temmy D said as Tina opened the door. He entered and he was amazed to see a man on her bed. He gathered himself together and offered an handshake to Jude. "hi, my name is Temidayo, Temmy D in short." he introduced himself to Jude who was still thinking on what a male student was doing at his girl friend's hostel that early morning. Temmy D was cut unaware; he wasn't expecting to see a youngman in Tina's room. Tina offered him a seat but he couldn't sit at such an awkward moment as that, he gave the bunch of flower to Tina and he left hurriedly. When he was leaving his hostel that early morning, he hoped to draw out a big fish with his net. He dressed up in a new set of T shirt and jeans. He applied two different type of perfumes and body sprays on himself and thus he set out for Tina's hostel with the flower that he purchased at a supermarket the previous night. All his plans were truncated by Jude.
Back in the hostel, Jude had so many questions about Temmy D for Tina. Tina knew this and she was ready to give appropriate answers to convince her beloved that all was well between them. Tina vowed never to see Temmy D again and to stop moving with Sade and her friends. However, all the promises were mere mouth services. The sweet words that included their enjoyment at parties and the way their sugar daddies treated Sade and her friends were always like preys that constantly drew Tina to them but she tried in some measures to resist the tempting reports. Temmy D would not give up either, he was hell bent on dating Tina. The foundation of the relationship was shaken to its root when Jude went on a two weeks competition outside the state. He was selected along four other students to represent the University in a competition that involved all the Universities in the country. Jude's number wasn't reachable for three days. It was the first time that she would be cut off from hearing from Jude for three days. It was as if her life was incomplete for the three days. Sade was willing to take her out to have a nice time out in order to while away the time but Tina was always keen to keep to her promise to Jude. She was always having her hands on her phone;dialling Jude's number and picking all call hurriedly but got disappointed, her lovely Jude wasn't calling. On the night of the third day, an unknown number called her. Due to her disappointing experiences calls, she didn't want to pick the call. But the caller was so stubborn, he wouldn't stopped until she picked the call. She shouted for joy, it was Jude calling with the number of the lecturer that went with them. Jude had been unable to charge his phone for the three days. She was so glad to hear his voice, it was as if it should go on like forever but he was permitted to use the phone for five minutes. Days after the call, there was a break in communication again. By the time Jude came back, the enemy had came and stolen his most prized asset away...... To be continued
Having the desire to help others is the calling that brings many into the “helping professions.” For others, it is the day to day service that we do for our families, children and others we work for/or/with. There is a fine line however when helping is not really helping, but rather a barrier that leads to stagnation or worse yet, fosters an unhealthy dependence. Indicators of when helping is NOT helping: 1. When the help we provide is not accepted by others The term I’ve used for years is when helping leads to “help rejecting complainers.” When our helping leads others to excuse themselves of embracing the help, then rejecting it, or avoiding it. This is not a judgment of our help or our intent, but of others’ readiness to change. They may simply not see the same way as you do. They may not value the same things. 2. When the help leads others to make the same poor decisions Any change effort has to be embraced as well as given. It is hard to un...
